The beta is running ATM until 6th of June (if you're a Sharp Shooter) so they've given you plenty of time to test now 
Have played it for a week or 2 now, my impression-
Pros:
- INCREDIBLE amount of Customisation for pretty much everything from your character to your clothes to your tattoos to your cars. (You can pretty much paint your cars however you want, however a side effect of this is I have already seen candy vans with pedobear on them. Also lots of Hello Kitty squad cars and people wearing no clothes)
- Great graphics, looks very realistic
- Drive-bys and Car chases (upto 4 people per car, unless it's a 2-seater)
- (virtually) every mission is PvP, you either take out objective-based missions and get dispatched against or dispatch against a criminal's mission
- Nobody is unbeatable, even people with the most expensive gear can be taken out by relative newbies. More money just buys the same weapons with upgrade slots, the only weapons particually hard to get being Grenade and Rocket Launchers.
- Bounties, or people with 5 stars are free game for everyone and are able to kill anyone they want until they're killed themselves.
- You can play a cop and bring dirty criminals to justice by arresting them,
Cons:
- It's an MMO, by EA. OK, it's not even an MMO, just GTA Online where you pay a subscription
- Game runs horrible even on hi-end systems. Lots of stuttering, hangs, lag and rubberbanding when loading other people's stuff, which isn't too helpful when they jump out in front of you with a shotgun 
- Crashes. Lots of them.
- Driving. It's like the road is made of Ice, you slide everywhere and the only car with decent grip (Jericho) handles like a speedboat.
- Driving lag. All cars are done server-side so the more lag you have, the harder it is to steer, esp with a keyboard which just leaves you snaking all over the road and crashing into lampposts
- Balance. It sucks ATM, with deadly shotguns with incredible range, high-ROF auto shotguns with infinate clip size (spamspamspamspamspamspam) pistols that are better than some sniper rifles and the AK-47 which does everything you'd ever need it to
- Aimbots. They exist, even in the closed beta, and they will ruin your day.
- Content. There isn't much. At all. What you start with dosen't really change an awful lot, just some weapon/vehicle unlocks - still take the same missions in the same places.
TL:DR; GTA Online but pretending to be an MMO by wooing you in with custom cars, clothes, graffiti and tattoos. Still very buggy, exploitable and very little content. Goons will have a field day. Gets boring fast but still lots of fun to be had before that. IMO worth trying out but not worth a subscription.
